East St. Louis, Illinois - Pauline McCottrell was born in East St. Louis, IL to Mollie T. Ernest and Allen J. McCottrell on December 3, 1946.
Pauline departed this life to meet the Lord and her son, Jarmain Jamal Hunt and her sister, Annie Turner. She passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2022, while at work caring for Braeton.
She graduated from Lincoln Sr. High School in 1965 and worked as a nurse for 54 years. Pauline treated every patient like family. She served God as a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Pauline enjoyed writing letters for the Belleville News-Democrat and watching movies.
She leaves behind a daughter, Paula McCottrell; a son, Louis A. McCottrell; her sisters, Phyllis McWherter and Jennie Mae Kincaid; her brother, Ronald Paraham; and two grandsons, Nicholas J. McCottrell Pizarro, and Caleb Jamil Garcia. Pauline also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and she will be sadly missed by friends and associates; Barbara Lee Williams â€" Maggie Meeks â€" and Charisma Hall.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral Service on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
