Robert MacMorran Obituary
Robert Douglas "Doug" MacMorran Jr. of Troy, Illinois, born July 7, 1950 in Glenview, Illinois, passed away at 10:08 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, at the age of 67.
Over the past six years, Doug has become a well known member of the community as the owner and operator of Trojan Arms and Gunsmithing in Troy, and as a member of the Town and Country and Edwardsville Gun Clubs. He was also a committee member of Friends of the NRA. Previously, he spent over 20 years in banking management with various financial institutions in the Midwest. Over the decades, Doug enjoyed cross country motorcycle trips, family vacations to the mountains and the ocean, flying private planes, scuba diving, and even skydiving. Doug cherished his wife, children and grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his entire family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Douglas MacMorran.
In addition to his beloved wife, Pam Sue (Mahan) MacMorran, whom he married on February 14, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada; mother, Caryl Belle (McClelland) MacMorran of Carthage, MO; he is survived by two daughters, Christina (James Howe) MacMorran and Jennifer (Fred) Maboneza, both of Troy, Illinois; a son, Robert Douglas (Natalya) MacMorran III; stepdaughter, Andrea (Clay) Roby of Troy, Illinois; five grandchildren, David, Jeremiah and Danielle Maboneza, Conor MacMorran and Everett Roby; two sisters, Wendy (Russell) Fugate of Joplin, Missouri, and Lynne (Melvin) Cooksey of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; two brothers, William (Donna) MacMorran of Reeds, MO, and James MacMorran of Eureka, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, the MacMorran family or to a charity of one's choice and may be accepted at the funeral home. www.irwinchapel.com
Services: In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, IL.
