Robert L. "Bob" Marczak, 61, of Mitchell, Ill., born May 3, 1947, in Granite City, Ill., died 1:45 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at his residence, with his family by his side.
Mr. Marczak retired from Olin Brass Corp., on Aug. 1, 2007, after 41 years of service as a machinist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from July 1966 until June 1968. He was a lifelong member of AMVETS Post 51 in Granite City, Ill.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julie, nee Kondrich, Marczak; and a sister, Rosie Marczak.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy L., nee Angelo, Marczak, whom he married Sept. 1, 1989, in Mitchell, Ill.; his step daughters, Tammy (Nick) Williams of Bethalto, Ill., and Lisa Scaturro Meadowbrook, Ill.; his step sons, Michael Hard of Roxanna, Ill., Adam (Heather) Hard of Granite City, Ill., and Jeff (Rachel) Hard of Highland, Ill.; sister, Helen Huddleston of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; brothers, John (Sharon) Marczak of Saint Joseph, Mich., and Andy Marczak of Granite City, Ill.; nephews, Brice Huddleston of Springfield, Va., and Shane Marczak of Godfrey, Ill.; godchildren, Steve Kondrich of Granite City, Ill., and Michelle Kondrich-Ordinola of Victorville, Calif.; and 13 step grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at the chapel with the Rev. Richard Harmon officiating. Interment with graveside military honors will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
