Robert Oser Obituary
Robert W. Oser Sr., 86, of Belleville, Ill., born Oct. 29, 1921, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Oser was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill. He was an engineer for the B & O Railroad for 42 years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia, nee Elliott, Oser; his parents, Albert and Doris, nee Kramer, Oser; a brother, Albert John Oser; a sister, Margaret Beadle; and a grandson, Zachariah Oser.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Oser of Belleville, Ill., and Robert W. Oser Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandsons, Jacob Oser, and Joshua (Michelle) Oser; a great-grandson, Jacob Isaac Oser; a great-granddaughter, Adelin Oser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Funeral: Funeral 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.

I was so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He and Claudia were my unoffical God parents. I have such fond memories of your family as I was growing up. When my mom passed away a few years ago, Bob was there to share his condolences. I had not seen him in such a long time. Even with age, he had changed very little. He was one of my Dad's best friends. I am truly sorry for your loss.
