O'Fallon, Illinois - Ruth Ann Grandcolas 90, of O'Fallon, IL went to be with the Lord on August 30th, 2024 surrounded by her 2 sons and 2 of her granddaughters.

Born Jan. 14th, 1934 in Belleville, IL, Ruth had a very successful high school career. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1952 as class Valedictorian. After high school she attended Milliken University and belonged to the Tri Delta Sorority.

Ruth worked as the Principal's secretary at Belleville High School and then transferred to Belleville East with the same title when the new school was opened. All together she worked for the Belleville School District for 35 years. She retired in Jan. 1999 as one of the longest tenured employees in school history and was rewarded with a position in the Belleville East Hall of Fame. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and playing dominoes with family and friends. She was a master at raising 3 sons. Her heart was pure gold and was the sweetest woman, always there with love and attention. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love in abundance.

Ruth was proceeded in death by her parents Bryan and Paula Bug, a son Tim Grandcolas, a brother William Bug, a sister Jane Knous, and her high school sweetheart, loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Al Grandcolas.

She is survived by two sons Mike and Jeff Grandcolas, 5 grandchildren - Michelle Howard, Andrea Piorkowski, Carly Irvin, Corinne Brownlow, and Caitlin Grandcolas, and 5 great grandchildren - Kade, Levi, and Elyn Howard and Jax and Ethan Piorkowski.

The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday Sept. 7th at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with visitation at 9:30 and Ceremony at 10:00 a.m.
