Shirley M. Bertelsman

Shirley Bertelsman Shirley Mae Bertelsman, nee Sutter, 88, of Fairview Heights, Ill., formerly of Millstadt, Ill., born April 6, 1930, in Millstadt, Ill., passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Charles Garden Senior Living in Fairview Heights, Ill. Shirley was a retired beautician and had previously worked at the Belleville Shoe Factory. She was a member and past president of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary 1739 in Belleville, Ill., and the Moose Lodge in Swansea, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Bertelsman; her parents, Elmer B. and Irma, nee Pfeil, Sutter; her four brothers, Elmer Sutter, Howard Sutter, Roland Sutter, and Benny Sutter; and her sister, Margie Schuchardt. Surviving are her son, Dennis (Irene) Bertelsman; her daughter, Susan (Paul) Weible; her four granddaughters, Tina Smith, Dena (Matt) Schmid, Heather (Justin) Reid, and Erica (Gregory) Uhrhan; her grandson, Chad (John Vazquez) Bertelsman; her ten great-grandchildren, Tyler (Samantha) Smith, Alex Smith, Liam Schmid, Gia Schmid, Grant Schmid, Ryan Schmid, Mason Reid, Hunter Reid, Elsa Uhrhan, and Otto Uhrhan; and her great-great grandaughter, Olivia Smith. She is also survived by nieces, and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
