Susan Launius Obituary
Susan Bell Launius, nee Haywood, 70, of Belleville, Ill., born Sept 14, 1943, in Belleville, Ill., died Sunday Aug. 10, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her husband and children.
Susan was a lifelong member of First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, Ill. She served as a deacon and a Stephen minister. She liked to go to concerts and enjoyed many types of music. She worked in real estate for over 25 years and was a member of the Belleville Board of Realtors. Later she worked with her husband at Launius Marketing. She enjoyed bowling, cross-stitching, and shopping. She was a wonderful mother, aunt, and dear friend. Above all, she was a fun-loving "Gram" and enjoyed spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary, nee Bell, Haywood; a sister, Mary Jane Haywood; and a sister-in-law Nancy Kraft.
Surviving are her loving husband of 48 years, William Launius Sr.; a son, William (Joan) Launius Jr. of Millstadt, Ill.; a daughter, Lori (Ken) Harris of Waterloo, Ill.; six grandchildren, William "Trey" Launius III, Kasey Launius, Hunter Harris, Carter Harris, Tanner Harris, and Cooper Harris; a brother-in-law Darwin Kraft; beloved nieces, Lisa (Craig) DeBeaumont, and Rebecca (Art) Fudge; beloved nephews, Todd Kraft and Karl Eric (Sue) Kraft; great nieces; great nephews; cousins; lifelong friend, Theresa Painter; and many other friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 14, 2014, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 15, 2014, at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 15, 2014, at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville Ill. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville Ill.

I am saddened to learn of Susan's passing. I remember many visits when her mother, Mary would bring her to Ironton. The girl cousins were few so we had fun when we were together. Bill, you and your family are in my prayers.

On several occasions Susan made my day by sharing compliments about looking beautiful. She seemed to know what I needed that day to feel special. She was a fun and special lady and will be thought of often. I am sorry I could not be there to share my condolences in person. Prayers go out to the family for peace and comfort. God Bless you all!

Bill and family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Susan. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by many.
