Terry Lee Poneleit

Terry Poneleit Terry Lee Poneleit, 71, of Collinsville, Illinois, born July 8, 1947, passed away peacefully December 1, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer. Terry was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving as part of the 94th FIS. Terry retired from IDOT in 2009 having made many friends along the way. An avid racing and antique car enthusiast, Terry enjoyed attending car shows and various types of races, especially the Indy 500. Terry will be remembered as a kind, compassionate man, who loved his family above all else. He will also be remembered as a survivor who overcame tremendous challenges following a 2009 brain surgery. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elsie Poneleit. Terry is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Kathleen Poneleit (Lotz); his son, Christopher (Michelle); and two grandsons, Jackson and Carter. Terry is also survived by his brother, Charles (Lynn), of KY.
