Todd O'Harrow

Todd James O'Harrow, 51, of Washington Park, Illinois, born Wednesday, March 9, 1966, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, Illinois.

Family was very important to Todd. He had countless nieces and nephews who adored him. Always the big brother, he walked two of his sisters down the aisle on their wedding day. His two great loves in life were his race cars and his dogs. He spent many hours under the hood of a car getting ready for the next quarter mile race and was always taking in homeless dogs in need. Not having much himself, he was always helping others. Now, with his passing and through his request to donate tissue organs, he will continue helping others. Todd will always be remembered for his love for his family, his caring nature and his ability to fill a room with laughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Alvin O'Harrow; grandparents, Carl and Bertha Rettig, John O'Harrow, and Margaret Elder; an uncle, Michael O'Harrow; and his beloved dog, Petey.

Surviving are his mother, Carlotta Sue, nee Rettig, Herbstreit of Arroyo Grande, CA; his five sisters, Lisa Butler, Kelly (Corey) Rubio and Karla (Cruz) Razo, all of Arroyo Grande, Cheryl Herbstreit of O'Fallon, IL and Jennifer O'Harrow and his brother, Jimmy O'Harrow, both of East St. Louis; aunts and uncles, Larry (Gerri) Rettig, Jack (Judy) Rettig, Bill (Terry) Rettig, Kay (Robert) Gonstal, and Sue Hoplinger; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and extended family, Buddy and Barbara McNatt and family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday October 6, 2017 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Services: Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday October 7, 2017 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Robert Gonstal officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
