Fairview Heights, Illinois - Victor C. Burge Jr., 75, of Valley Park, MO, formally of Fairview Heights, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 2, 2022. He was born January 31, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL to Victor and Dorothy (Payne) Burge. Victor was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Marla Behnken June 21, 1969 at First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, IL, where they spent the next 50 years. Victor was a walking mail carrier in Collinsville, IL for the USPS before retiring. He enjoyed cruises and traveling with his wife, Marla. He was a devoted husband and Marla's caregiver for the past ten years. Victor loved talking to everyone and never knew a stranger. He was full of jokes, laughter and will be remembered for his sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marla Burge; children, Nathan (Janelle) Burge and Sara (Stahle) Butler; grandchildren, Olivia Butler, Felicity Burge Nora Butler, Stahle Butler Jr., and Amelie Burge; sister, Maureen (Jim) Woolford. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carole Andrews and brother, Kenneth Burge.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Lake View Funeral Home.
