William Dittmar Obituary
William Earl "Billy" Dittmar, 24, of Worden, Ill., born Jan. 15, 1988, in Litchfield, Ill., died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in St. Jacobs Township, Ill.
William graduated from Edwardsville High School with the Class of 2006. He was a meat cutter for Schnucks in Collinsville, Ill. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion, Worden, Ill., The Edwardsville Moose Lodge and a former volunteer fireman in Worden, and the Meat Cutters Union.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Dittmar and Yvonne Dittmar Texier.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Marci Dittmar of Worden, Ill.; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Rose Stoll of St. Charles, Mo.; his sister, Shelby Dittmar of Worden, Ill.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Worden Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Staunton, Ill., with Father George Radosevich officiating. Burial will be at Worden City Cemetery, Worden.

Bill and Marcia, I am so sorry for your loss. When I lost my son almost 5 yrs ago I did not think I would be able to live another day, yet here it is yrs later. I am so sorry for your loss and if I could change that for you I sure would. I know the pain first hand. This brought tears to my eyes and heart.

Was shocked to hear about Billy's passing. Both my husband (Steve) and I thought the world of Billy. Always looked forward to seeing him at Schnucks. It's just not the same seeing him anymore. He was a kind and loving soul. Will miss his big beautiful smile. Bless you Billy - until we meet again. God Bless Billy's family.

My deepest sympathies go out to Billy's family and friends. I've known him practically my whole life and cannot think of a nicer person to have known. He had a special talent for making people smile, and I'll always think of him fondly. He will be deeply missed.

My deepest sympathy to the whole family for your great loss. I worked with Billy at Collinsville in the meat dept when he first started, he was truelly a great, genuine person. He was very considerate and consciencous for such a young man. You should be very proud of the person that you raised. He touched a lot of lives in his short life on the this earth. Billy always had a smile on his face, when I would come in to shop at Collinsville Schnucks he was always helpful and seemed Happy that he was a Meat Cutter, he will be missed surely he is Cutting Meat on the Right Side Of Jesus Now! Billy was one of the greatest friends my little brother Nick ever had. I still remember them skateboarding on the front sidewalk at my parents house all the time and when he broke his arm we thought that was the coolest! I love Billy as a brother and will contniue to! Billy was a wonderful young man. I met him about 4-5 years ago at Schnuck's and we became friends. His smile from across the counter always lifted my spirits even when I had a difficult night working at the hospital. I am truly thankful and blessed to have known Billy. My prayers and deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones during this tragic time.

Gary & I just received the news this morning about Billy. Beyond belief...we are so, so sorry! Thoughts of him helping us pick tomatoes out of your garden when he was 6 came floating back to memory. What a sweet face when he looked up at me & said, "Aren't these the bestest, biggest tomatoes you've ever seen!?" Always, always, even as a child, he was awesome to be around.
