Alexander McBean Obituary

Alexander Marshall McBean
March 10, 1942 - November 2, 2021
Bellingham, Washington - In a sudden turn of events, we lost Alexander Marshall McBean on November 2, 2021. As we process this tremendous loss, please help us remember a life well lived by a man we all loved.
Marshall McBean loved life and shared that passion with many. To those who knew "Marsh", he had three passions in life: Public health, fishing, and gardening! Everyday of his life seemed to be filled with something related to one of those passions.
Marshall was a husband to Jean for 51 years, an active and caring father to Ian (Hawaii) and Duncan (Bellingham, WA). He was a fun and joking grandfather to Ainsley (16), Lily (15), and Avery (13). He also provided love, counsel and shared experiences for our third "brother", Tim Tadder and countless others.
We will remember Marsh, Dad, Grandpa for his optimism, his gentleness, his keen interests and fascinations as well as his miserly ways. We will remember his fishing trips, his blueberry stained fingers, his crunch on an apple. His dirty fishing shirts, hiking/cargo pants and array of hats and sun covers. He was kind, loving and patient. He wanted the best for those he knew well and for those he didn't know at all. Thank you, we love you Marshall and you will be sorely missed.
