Brennan O'Connor Obituary

Brennan (Nan) O'Connor

January 22, 1939 - January 17, 2025

Seattle, Washington - Brennan O'Connor died peacefully on Jan. 17, 2025 just 5 days shy of her 86th birthday. Brennan was born in Seattle to James M. and Kathryn B. O'Connor, the 2nd of 4 siblings. She attended Holy Names Academy and graduated from the University of Washington. She worked as a vocational counselor at WWU and Lake Washington Voc Tech before managing her own private practice in Seattle for many years.

Brennan loved the creative life. She performed and directed plays in college and in local theater. She pursued her musical talent and became an accomplished pianist. She showed a great deal of humor in her writing and art and preferred tap dancing to ballroom dancing. Brennan loved the PNW where she participated in typical activities, skiing, hiking, mountain climbing. But also racket ball and roller skating. She was a regular skater around Greenlake.

She is survived by her beloved son Lee Dykas and his wife Anna, sisters Pattie Johnston (Tucson) and MaryK McCoy (Seattle) and nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
