Brett Leavitt Obituary

Brett Anthony Leavitt age 56, passed away unexpectedly in his peaceful sleep, from complications of diabetes. Brett was born and raised in Bellingham by parents Lyle B. Leavitt and Grace A. (Morgan) Leavitt, and attended Sehome High School, class of 1977. He began his work in industrial cleaning for Crosby and Overton and worked for many years, ending his career working at Philips Services. During his career he traveled extensively throughout the Western United States, Hawaii and Alaska. Along with the help of his Dad, he built a beautiful house in Sudden Valley in 1991. He was very proud of his little piece of heaven that he built with his Dad, and was still working on a backyard barbeque right up until the time he left us. During his spare time he loved to golf. Any opportunity he had during his travels and in between work, he would golf, many times with his brother Butch and numerous other friends. He also enjoyed the occasional fishing trip and spending time with his family. Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Grace A. (Morgan) Leavitt. He is survived by his father Lyle B. Leavitt, brother Doyle (Butch) Leavitt, sister Roxie D. Leavitt, long time companion Vicki Stubbs, children Christopher Clark and Cassi Nichol, grandchildren Anthony and Kristella Clark, niece Erica Moreau and her daughter Londyn. Brett leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends that will miss him dearly. He had a knack for telling a story or a joke, with his twinkling blue eyes and infectious snicker. We will cherish those memories of him forever.

Seeing this is saddening to say the least. Reading Brett's obituary actually made me happy however... Many years ago, Brett and I met working at CPS. We quickly found out we both had a love for riding dirtbikes. We soon became quite great friends in which I introduced him to golf, archery hunting and fishing. Im glad I was able to give him something that he still enjoyed years later...

I still can't believe you are gone. But I will always remember that mischievous grin and twinkle in those electric blue eyes every time we were together. Your silly stupid jokes and tales of life were infamous. I miss you, until we meet again cousin. I love you.
