Brooklyn is the 3-1/2 year old daughter of Rob & Jen Hoksbergen. She was a fun loving kid who loved to dance & sing and anything to do with pink and princesses. She tried her best to keep up with her 3 older sisters, and was a very smart, spunky girl. Brooklyn was so proud to attend her very first day of preschool at My First School. Brooklyn passed away Friday morning in the arms of her parents & is now dancing for joy with Jesus. She was born in Bellingham and lived with her parents and sisters west of Lynden. Brooklyn is survived by her loving parents Robert and Jennifer Hoksbergen; big sisters Kennedy, Taylor, and Sophie; grandparents Dirk and Olga Vander Kooy and John and Betty Hoksbergen; Great-grandmother Jenny DeBoer; aunts Kristi (Brent) Weg, Julie (Mike) Decker, Heidi (Brett) Heigert; uncles Joel (Joy) Hoksbergen, Jason (Shelby) Vander Kooy, Jon (Catherine) Vander Kooy, Eric (Theresa) Vander Kooy, Matt (Robbyn ) Vander Kooy, Kris (Coby) Vander Kooy, Daniel (Briana) Vander Kooy, Benjamin Vander Kooy, Joel (Jessica) Vander Kooy, Timothy Vander Kooy, and Jeremy Vander Kooy; and many cousins and family members who loved her very much. A time of visitation will be held at Gillies Funeral Home, Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Close friends and family are invited to a 10:00 AM, Graveside service, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery, Wiser Lake RD. All are invited to Brooklyn's Memorial Service at North County Christ the King Church on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:30 AM with the Reverend Mark Stromberg presiding.
