Daniel Higbee Obituary

Daniel K. "Dan" Higbee
August 19, 1946 - August 8, 2023
Bellingham, Washington - Born in Wichita, KS to Chris and Mary Higbee on August 19, 1946, Dan passed away at his Sudden Valley home on August 8, 2023. The youngest of three boys, he attended Friends University for a short time before joining the Navy. He served during the Vietnam War for four years and met his wife Pat on a blind date while on shore leave (true story!), and they recently celebrated 55 years together. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and raised two AMAZING sons while working for KG&E as a Journeyman Lineman and System Controller. He eventually retired and they settled in Washington State. He loved to swim, was passionate about woodworking, and enjoyed laughing with friends and family. He loved peanut butter and chocolate, 60's Rock n' Roll, and anything water related.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Mary, and his brother Mike. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; sons, Shawn (wife Shenelle) and Scott (wife Dionne); three granddaughters, Josslyn, Alexys and Allisyn; and his brother, Dave (wife Linda).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1110 14th St, Bellingham), followed by a committal at Bayview Cemetery. Reception to follow at Westford Funeral Home (1301 Broadway, Bellingham).
