Daniel Thomsen Obituary
July 2, 1942 - May 17, 2025
Mt. Vernon, Washington - Daniel A. Thomsen, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 from Parkinson's Disease with his wife, Wanda, by his side, at Mira Vista Care Center in Mt. Vernon, WA.
Dan was born July 2, 1942 in Seattle WA to Arthur and Dulcie Thomsen. He graduated from Snohomish High School in 1960 and then joined the US Army which sent him to Vietnam. When he came home, he made a career of working on the railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Jean. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; brothers David and Glen (Kay) Thomsen and sister, Andrea (Jim) Hermanson, as well as his step-children, Brinda Honcoop (Greg Allen), Leanna Honcoop-Farris and Ed (Cindy) Honcoop. He also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, July 6 at 1:00 pm at Immersion Church, 900 Skagit St, Mt. Vernon WA with reception to follow.
An inurnment is scheduled for Saturday, July 26 at 1:30 pm in the cemetery at Freeborn Lutheran Church, 2416 300th St NW, Stanwood WA (uphill from Exit 215 off I-5).
