Deming, Washington - Chuck Browne, age 89, passed away on October 6, 2025, in Bellingham, WA. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 1 to 3 pm at Squalicum Boathouse, 2600 N. Harbor Loop Dr., Bellingham, WA. All his friends and family are welcome.

Classmates always called him: " Chuck" but knew his name was: Grant "Oliver" Browne! The obituary left out the "Oliver" name! He was an important part of our 1954 class of Bellingham High School. Semper Fi!

When I was first dating Chuck's daughter Andrea she wanted me to meet her parents. She described Chuck to me as a big and tall ex-Marine. Intimidation immediately set in. A few days later when I met Chuck we sat together at a table on the deck just outside the kitchen door. We shared beers and talked for an hour. Turned out Chuck was one of the most kind and gentle people I would ever meet. Somehow I picture him in Heaven on the Skagit River fishing for steelhead.
