John David Leenders

December 28, 1956 - May 25, 2024

Houston, Texas - John David Leenders passed away May 25, 2024, due to complications of diabetes. John was born on December 28, 1956, to Gerrit Leenders and Joan Blandford Leenders. He is survived by his brother, James Leenders. John was a graduate of Washington State University, majoring in Journalism. He was the managing editor of the Washington Association of Wheatgrowers and president of the Chamber of Commerce in Ritzville, WA. John lived in Houston, TX the last several years under the care of his ex-wife, Tracye Smith Leenders. John passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Inurnment services will be held on Friday September 27, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Green Acres Memorial Park, Ferndale, WA.

John...first of all I want to thank you for sharing much of the last 39 years together. I am missing your wit and our conversations....you were so bright.Thank you for loving me...I always knew you were there in my good times and bad....you loved me when I didn't love myself! I will see you soon...but hopefully not too soon...lol...then we will celebrate our lives and our faith fulfilled. See you later pumkinhead!!!***
