Maurice E. Mowre

1922 - 2015

Maurice E. Mowre passed away in Bellingham, WA on May 6th where he had resided for the last 6 years. He was born in Tacoma, WA on April 27, 1922 where he lived most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, two sisters and a brother, a grandson and a great grandson. He served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Later he worked for Tacoma City Light for 30 years until his retirement. His greatest joy was ballroom dancing to big band music and growing flowers. He enjoyed family get-togethers and no gathering was complete without his wry sense of humor. Surviving are his daughters Maureen Beeman and Diane Perreault, and grandchildren Tracy Traber, Ken Granacki, Kandi Devenere, Karl Beeman, Katie Butenschoen, Sean and Destanie Beeman. Also 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and his special longtime friend and companion Gloria Rawson. There will be a celebration of life at AMVETS Post 1, 5717 So. Tyler, Tacoma, WA at 1:00 on May 21st. Those who wish may visit the gravesite afterwards at New Tacoma Cemetery.
