Many memories of Rodger helping to keep the important legacy of music education in the public schools vibrant and needful... for setting standards of excellence but making the learning enjoyable for his students. Rodger was a student of my dad, Bob Anderson, and when Dad came up here to live, he was very pleased to know that Rodger was still teaching. On behalf of my brother, Donn, I send condolences from the Anderson family.

Dear Barbara, Rodger, Jr. and all of their extended family-
We very much share your loss. As you well know, Rodger's passing in September was a huge shock to me and to many others who knew and loved him as a teacher, fellow educator, and friend. Rodger and I were both hired in the fall of 1970 as string music specialists for the Bellingham Schools. Our mutual admiration and respect for one another continued to develop and grow through the years as we shared triumphs and set-backs as teachers. Fortunately, each of my four children had the privilege of either beginning their instruments with Rodger or having him as their middle school orchestra teacher. The thoughts and memories of our time with Mr. A as well as the gift of music that he shared, will be with us and with members of our community for years to come. There is true joy in that!
