Kathleen Reitzell Obituary

Beloit, WI - Kathleen Ann "Katie" Reitzell, 82, of Beloit, WI passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Katie was born on June 20, 1941, in Erie, PA, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Kearney) Williams. She graduated from the Villa Maria Academy in 1959 and worked as an x-ray technician for St Vincent's hospital in Erie, PA. She married Charles "Chuck" Reitzell on January 25, 1969, with whom she raised four children. In 1976 they took their family to Beloit, WI and made it their home. They joined Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and became active members of its faith community where they made lifelong friends. Katie was a devoted homemaker for her family and an advocate for Beloit Catholic High School. She was active in the school's annual rummage sale and was famous for her Saderfest funnel cakes. Additionally, she coordinated costumes for the high school musicals for many years. She found joy searching every Goodwill and vintage store for clothing and accessories so that every character looked just right. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends including trips to Ireland, London, Spain, California, and Alaska, monthly lunches with the ladies, weekends at Irish Fest and summers in Erie. Later in life she spent time volunteering at Beloit Hospital and Caritas. She enjoyed reading, winters in Florida, and time spent with her children and 9 grandchildren. Despite not being a "dog person" as she always used to say, she loved her 4-legged family, Murphy, Hobbs, Buck, Bodie, Kobe, Casey, Dusty, Blake, Riggs, Murph, Finn, Javy and Dottie. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Chuck Reitzell; children Carrie Ann (Patrick) Wolf, Billy Reitzell, and Chip (Kristin) Reitzell; her grandchildren Jack, Annie, Bridget and Sean Wolf, John, Charlie and Mattie Reitzell, Liam and Cullen Reitzell; siblings Mary Ellen (Paul) Demyanovich, Butch (Patty) Wiliams and Maura Nash; along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, son John Reitzell, brothers Pudge Williams, Billy Williams and Bob Williams, brothers-in-law Tim Nash and Phillip Reitzell. Her niece and goddaughter Diane Williams and Tommy Nash. Our family would like to thank everyone at Beloit Hospice, especially Julie, Jessica, Lisa, Stephanie and Sherri who showed great care and compassion. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023 in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI, Father Bart Timmerman officiating. A visitation of remembrance will be from 10:30am to 11:45am in advance of the Funeral Mass. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials in Katie's name may be given to Beloit Regional Hospice, 1904 East Huebbe Pkwy, Beloit, WI 53511. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.daleymurphywisch.com.
