Alice Vogt

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Alice Vogt died Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Alice resided on Richmond Avenue in Hoosick Falls with her husband Eugene, whom she married on Dec. 14, 1947.

Alice was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Maurice and Roseanna (Fox) Moran. She was educated at Julia Richmond High School in Manhattan. Alice was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Titanic Historical Society, Inc., Miller Museum, and a forming housing commissioner in Hoosick Falls.

Alice was a devout member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. She was a Eucharist Minister, the chairwoman of the Defense of Life Group, and a volunteer at the church. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, where she served as Regent for two years. Alice and Eugene were Augustinian Seculars and members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.

Alice was the loving wife of Eugene Vogt, and loving mother of Carol Eikenberry and husband, Peter, of Seattle, Washington; Jeane-Marie Polak and husband, Alan, of Ossining, N.Y.; Dorothy Ryan and husband, Stephen, of Croton on the Hudson, N.Y.; Thomas Vogt and wife, Debra, of Old Bridge, N.J.; and Mark Vogt of Staten Island, N.Y. She is also survived by a niece, Roseanne Miller, of Tampa, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. Alice is predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Moran and Mary Moran, and a brother, James Moran.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home on 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Defense of Life Group at the Immaculate Conception Church through the funeral home.
