Daniel A. Krauss
1931-2010 CAMBRIDGE, NY Daniel Albert Krauss died peacefully at his home on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.
Born Nov. 26, 1931, at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, he was a creative developer of exquisite handcrafted early American lighting fixtures. Dan was a man of extraordinary taste and style.
He leaves his wife, Nancy Clark-Krauss; his children, Michael Krauss and Elizabeth Gemme; his stepson, Clark Sheldon; his grandchildren, Sam and Luke Krauss, and Alexander and Aidan Gemme; his daughter-in-law, Maria; his son-in-law, Michel; and his sister, Annette Stern.
MEMORIAL NOTICE: A private burial was held on Feb. 14, 2010, at Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge, N.Y. A memorial service open to all will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at the Congregational Church, Route 153, Rupert, Vt. Shiva following the memorial service at Nancy and Dan's home, 1163 State Route 313, Cambridge, NY.

I have many warm memories of many days and nights spent with Danny. Though I hadn't seen him for years, I can recall his shining face as if it were yesterday as well as his enormous heart and gentle soul. I send all my love to all his loved ones.

Dan was very generous when he donated all the lighting fixtures to Israel Congregation of Manchester upon completion of the building in 1985.On behalf of the Congregation we extend our condolences to his wife and family.
