Harold I. Crane

1926 - 2022

Harold (Hal) I. Crane, 95, of Johns Creek, GA and formerly of Manchester Center and Arlington, VT passed away June 7, 2022 at the home of his daughter Elena Cannata in Johns Creek, GA. Hal was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 2, 1926 the son of the late Frederick and Elsie (Anderson) Crane. He was educated in Brooklyn schools, graduated from Sewanhaka Central High School in Floral Park, NY and attended Hofstra University. Hal was an insurance agent and owned and operated a State Farm Agency for many years. He was very active in his church and was a member of The Knights of Columbus in VT, then in GA. He was a member of the Sassies in Arlington and The Romeo's Senior Group. Hal was Rotary Club President from 1983-1984 in Northport, NY, and a former member of the Lions Club in Arlington. Hal enjoyed traveling, did a tremendous amount of reading, and was a member of RSVP. Hal is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Elena and Joe Cannata of Johns Creek, GA, son and daughter-in-law David and MaryJean Crane of Huntington, NY, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Claire (Lenzo) Crane. A mass of Christian death and burial for Hal will be celebrated August 11, 2022 at 1pm at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1pm at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, VT.
