Henry Harrington

Henry George Harrington 1934-2010 Mr. Henry George Harrington, 76, of Statesville, N.C. died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Magnolia Gardens Nursing Home. Born August 13, 1934 in Bennington, Vt., he was the son of the late Sarah Greene and Ralph S. Harrington. Mr. Harrington was a graduate of N. Bennington High School. He earned a degree in agriculture from Vermont Technical College. Mr. Harrington served in the US Army and worked in the Post Office as a mail courier. He retired from Union Carbide as a mechanic. He went on to run a small business as a locksmith after retirement. Mr. Harrington is preceded in death by his first wife, Eliza Fisk and one grandchild, Stephanie Small. Those left to cherish his memory are his current wife, Nellie Tedder Harrington; sons, Mark Harrington and wife Candace of Statesville, N.C.; Keith Harrington and wife Eileen of Bennington, Vt.; daughters, Sharon Leath and husband Dan of Statesville, N.C., and Terri Adams of Pennsylvania; sisters, Mary Hall and husband Richmond of Shaftsbury, Vt., and Phyllis Harrington of Shaftsbury, Vt.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family will hold a graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Waite Cemetery on East Rd. in Shaftsbury, VT.
