Hope Leonard Obituary

Hope Cora Armstrong Leonard, known for her quick wit and sense of humor, was born in Bennington, Vermont, on September 21, 1937, to the late Hollis and Hazel (Douglas) Armstrong. She passed on Wednesday November 5th at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was the eldest of three children and received her education in Bennington. Hope was employed at CTC as a film technician and in the cafeteria at junior high school.

Hope would marry Nelson "Toby" Leonard, and together they raised five children. Her children, grandchildren, and identical twin great-granddaughters were the light of her life.

She loved tending to her beautiful flower beds, watching birds, reading, and knitting baby blankets and lap blankets for veterans, as well as cat blankets for the Second Chance Animal Home.

Hope is survived by her husband, Toby Leonard; and their children, Cathleen (Bob) Mook, Thomas (Kris) Leonard, Mary Beth (Tim) Smith, Christine Leonard Coffield, and Angela Leonard.

Her grandchildren include Crosby Mook, Meredith (Nate) Levesque, Brianna Ward, MaryHope Coffield, Brittany Leonard, Hayden Smith, and CC Coffield.

Her great-grandchildren are Raegan and Rylee Levesque.

Hope is also survived by her sister June Coyne; brothers- and sisters-in-law Ralph and Phyllis Leonard, Augustine Baker, and Phillis Armstrong.

She was predeceased by her parents, Hollis and Hazel Armstrong, and her brother, David Armstrong.

Hope will be remembered for her humor, warmth, and the love she poured into her family, her home, and the many lives she touched.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, Hoosick Falls, New York.
