John Farquhar Obituary
Officiating was the Rev. Thomas Truscott, pastor of the Federated Church of East Arlington. The Rev. Truscott reflected upon Mr. Farquhar’s great athletic abilities, his love of music, in particular jazz, and his devotion to family.
Personal reflections and memories were shared by his wife Peggie and son Scott; a poem written by Richard Henry Stoddard, titled “The Flight of Youth,” was read by Mary Longtin. The American flag of the World War II Navy Air Corps veteran was presented to Mrs. Farquhar by Joseph Krawczyk of American Legion Post 13.
Mr. Farquhar, 84, a resident of West Dover, died March 22, 2005 at the Vermont Veterans Home following a lengthy illness.
Arrangements were under the care of the Covey & Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington.
