Joseph W. David 1954 - 2009 BENNINGTON Joseph W. David "Junkyard Joe," 54, a resident of White Creek Road in North Bennington died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a long illness. Born in Ballston Spa, N.Y., on Dec. 4, 1954, son of the late Louis and Marjorie Brownell David, he received his education in North Bennington. He had worked as a painter for different contractors in the area, but in more recent years, he had worked at Brownell Auto Wrecking Service in North Bennington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and vegetables. Joseph enjoyed pitching horseshoes and loved animals. He was a member of the Bennington Eagles Club. He leaves one brother, Louis David of Ballston Spa; three sisters, Rose Telford of White Creek, N.Y., and Phyllis Reckner and Patricia Rougie and her husband, Gene, all of Ballston Spa, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Eugene Brownell. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Saturday, Jan. 31, at 12 noon at the MAHAR and SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, with the Rev. Penny Rich-Smith, officiating. Interment will take place in Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11 until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
