Joseph Gawlik Obituary
1935-2013 Joseph P. Gawlik, 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2013, at the Centers for Living in Bennington. Joseph was born in Yonkers, New York, on May 19, 1935, the son of Joseph S. and Pauline (Schepkowski) Gawlik. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen McCarren Gawlik, his children, Joseph D. Gawlik and his wife Wendy of Manchester Center, Vermont, Jeannine Lonsway and her husband Eric of Portland, Oregon, and Gregg Gawlik of Pawlet, Vermont. His two beloved grandchildren, Quinn Lonsway and Maeve Lonsway of Portland, Oregon, also survive him. His son, Brian Gawlik, predeceased him in 2009. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated Saturday September 7, 2013 at noon at Christ Our Savior Parish (St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church) in Manchester, Vermont. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Joseph's memory may be made to the Brian J. Gawlik Media Arts & Sciences Endowed Fund at Burr & Burton Academy, P. O. Box 498, 57 Seminary Avenue Manchester, VT 05254.

we learn from one another Joe taught us how he lived his life with Christ guiding him. a laughter or something comes into our mind its Joe telling us he is still praying and he is in so much peace and joy and looking forward for the time we all to be together in heaven praising God for eternity

Oh what a beautiful blessing it was for me when Joe and his wife came into my life to learn from them both and to see how strong their faith is. Joe has carried his cross with much love as Jesus taught us all. He is the salt of the earth. I will miss him very much as I will miss Helen. God Bless your family and may the tears soon turn into joy and peace knowing that Jesus is now holding Joe in His sweet precious arms. I whispered to Joe, " Don't forget to pray for us all when you get to heaven" I know he must be praying for us all now. Peace of God be with you all. Love Trina
