1959 - 2015 BENNINGTON Julia Ann (Montgomery) Hannan, age 55, a resident of Chapel Road died on Monday, July 6, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bennington on September 29, 1959, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Janette Alice (Brown) Montgomery, Sr. She received her education in Bennington and is a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School and the Putnam Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She married John V. Hannan in May 1982. He predeceased her on September 1, 2006. Julie had been employed at Equinox Terrace in Manchester for several years, as an LPN. Julie was a longtime member of the Arlington Rescue Squad. She was active in Tae Kwon Do martial arts, did ceramics, caning, and crocheting. She loved her many Dachshunds. Survivors include her sister, Gwendolen (Robert) Hannan of Bennington, her brother, Robert (Amy Jo) Montgomery, Jr. of Sunderland, VT, she leaves nieces and nephews, including: Erin Tifft of Wilmington, NC, Heather Hannan of Shaftsbury, VT, Robert Montgomery, III and Edward Montgomery, both of Leominster, MA, and Meagan Morgan of Hoosick Falls, NY. As well as aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, many close friends, and Mini-Cooper her miniature Dachshund. FUNERAL NOTICE: Service will be held on Thursday afternoon, July 9, 2015 at the Federated Church in East Arlington at 5 p.m. Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
