Kent was one of the most loving, kind, sweet, gentle and honest person of anyone I have ever met. Not to mention a confidant and like a grandfather/friend to me for the five years I had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful man. He is out of pain now and with his wife Jane in a better place. Goodbye good friend....

I was an Eduction student in the late 70s. I took the class partly because friends I respected recommended it, and partly because it was unique to SUCO. When I transferred out after two years to another college, I was granted credit for a year of "Education" (they must've thought "Eduction" was a typo). And yet: what Kent Lawson imparted to me WAS an education. He challenged me to think about HOW I learned, to question assumptions, to go deeper. His lessons had a profound and lasting impact on me as a student and as a person. I am a writer now (and more or less make a living at it) and still remember and use one phrase he gave me long ago. It works every time. LMV = launch, gain momentum, and veer into your point or story. In short, I owe a great debt of gratitude to this smart, insightful, creative, kind man: he gave me tools I really needed and really used. What better tribute to a True Teacher than that?
Thank you, Dr. Lawson, and godspeed.

I was one of Dr. Lawson's Edux students back in the late 70's and had the pleasure of meeting Jane as well. My memory of him will always be his soft-spoken gentle manner and genuine love for his students. The world has lost a good man.
