Michael Bailey Obituary

Michael Paul Bailey, 71, passed away April 4, 2025 after a 3 year battle with PSP. He lived in Dorset for 27 years and, was an active member of the Bennington County community for 37. Michael was born in Utica, NY and lived in Norwich for much of his childhood. After graduating from Binghamton University, he spent years as an archaeologist in the area. In Vermont, he ran his own appraisal business. He spent his free time gardening, cooking, and speed reading. Mike loved playing tennis and cruising around in his Triumph that he fixed up himself.

Christmas was his favorite time of year, he loved to give gifts and wrapping them was an event. As an expression of his love for history and family, he took the time to continue building our family tree through many generations. He is survived by his brother Stephen, sister Ruth, daughter Jane, and granddaughter Camille. He requested no funeral service, but a celebration of life may be at a later date.
