Sally Anne Potter Katz 1948-2011 RIVER EDGE, NJ. Sally Potter Katz, 62, formerly a resident of Elm Street in Bennington, passed away following a brief illness at her home on February 6, 2011. Sally was born in Bennington on October 11, 1948, the eldest daughter of Burton W. and Mary Rancourt Potter. She attended Saint Francis de Sales School and entered Bennington Catholic High School in 1961. She was involved in student government, the debate team, and the school paper and year book. She was also involved with Glee club, on the majorette squad and the basketball team. Sally married William Balton Katz at Saint Francis de Sales Church on June 6, 1969. She had worked at the First Vermont Bank and Trust Company in Bennington as a teller during vacations from school, and worked as a paralegal in several law firms which included translating documents into English after graduation. She enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques, art, battling weeds in her garden and was an avid reader. Her defining activity was to offer love and support to her family, including her husband, William Katz of River Edge, N.J., a loving son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Kim Katz of Tiverton, R.I., three beautiful grandchildren, Chloe, Leah and Caleb Katz. She is also survived by two sisters, Susan Joachim of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Nanette Lampron of Bennington, Vt., several nieces, nephews and cousins.
