Barbara Lin Parr

1962 - 2025

Barbara Lin Parr, age 63, of Independence, Missouri passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at the St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on September 2, 1962, in Spencer, Iowa, to Lawrence and Carol Parr, both of whom have predeceased her.

Barbara graduated from Spencer High School in 1980 before moving to Warsaw Missouri with her family. She eventually moved to Independence, Missouri, where she began her own family. She was a devoted mother to Amanda Read who is now married to Will Read, Taylor Anderson-Parr, partnered by Melanie Hoskam. And Hannah Tuimaseve, partnered by Tarvis George. She is a proud grandmother to Kera Read, William Read IV, and Michelle Hoskam. Barbara was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of another grandchild in May of 2026, Whose birth she had been anticipating with great joy and love. Though she did not live to meet this little one, her spirit will forever be a part of the family's legacy.

She was the cherished sister of Carolyn Hawk, husband Robert Hawk. And brother Frank Parr, wife Delleda Parr , all of whom survive her.
Barbara's life was marked by love, kindness, and a deep connection to the people around her. She found great joy in the simple pleasures-whether it was reading a good book, playing Candy Crush, or listening to music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Her love for classic tunes from those decades was a reflection of her nostalgic spirit and her love for the moments and memories those songs evoked.

She was a woman who thrived in the company of family and friends, always offering a listening ear, heartfelt advice, and the warmth of her unconditional love. Her smile, gentle nature, and sense of humor left a lasting impact on all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

Barbara is now reunited with her parents, Lawrence and Carol, and will be forever remembered and loved by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Rest in peace, Barbara. You will always be loved and never forgotten.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Roseland, Missouri.
