Edna "Roberta" Cohalla

1932 - 2025

Edna "Roberta" Cohalla, age 92, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her daughter's home in Drexel, Missouri.
She was born on December 5, 1932, in Corder, Missouri, the daughter of Fred and Edna (Ehlert) Bartel.
Roberta was known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She had a kind and nurturing spirit, especially evident in her love for children and animals-particularly her many cats. She found great joy in crocheting, tending to her plants, and spending time outdoors. A talented gardener and landscaper, Roberta took pride in creating beauty wherever she went. Her strong faith and love for the Lord were the foundation of her life and guided her through every season.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cohalla; two sons, Dennis and Daniel Hackney; two grandchildren, Mark and Craig Hackney; three brothers, Everett, Dewey, and Warren Bartel; two sisters, Rosalene Sands and Laverne Ridder; and her best friend, Darlene Heynes.
Roberta is survived by her son, Douglas Hackney and his partner, Amanda, of Kansas City, Missouri; her daughter, Darla Hackney Hines and her husband, Cody, of Drexel, Missouri. Darla lovingly cared for her mother in her final years. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, including her granddaughter RoseLa and her son, Kaelyb and his daughter Marlene, whom she lovingly raised in her home.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
