Frances Mellen Obituary
Frances was united in marriage to Leon Mellen in 1952 in Benton County, and together they were blessed with four sons and one daughter. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who dearly loved the Lord. Having accepted Jesus as a young girl, she lived her entire life with a servant's heart.
She worked lovingly and tirelessly as a CNA in several nursing homes and was also a wonderful homemaker. Frances enjoyed countless hours gardening and planting flowers in her yard. She was an avid Bingo player and never passed up a garage sale or flea market. She was a faithful member of Abundant Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Leon Mellen; one son, Keven Mellen; one grandson, Douglas Kyle Mellen; one brother; and two sisters.
Frances is survived by her children: Keith Mellen and wife Melody of Cole Camp, Missouri; Van Mellen and wife Kemberly of Lincoln, Missouri; Kim Mellen and his girlfriend Marsha of Lincoln, Missouri; and Denise Benn of Han Lake, Minnesota. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, fifteen grandchildren; Heather Mellen, Jason Benn, Jennifer Mellen, Amie Tollitson, Jimmie Benn, Van Mellen Jr., Brian Mellen, Adam Mellen, Michael Mellen, Sara Mellen, Julie Peterson, Jeremy Mellen, Tiffany Allcorn, Lindsey Decker , and Brandon Mellen, along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Poplar Baptist Church in Warsaw, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery in Lincoln, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Community Nursing Home, c/o Reser Funeral Home.
