Leona Nunn Obituary

Leona May Nunn, age 91, formerly of Edwards, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Lincoln Community Care Center.

Leona was born on February 1, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William and Leona (Kimlin) Minter. She grew up in Bonner Springs, Kansas, and on November 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Paul J. "Jim" Nunn. Together they made their home in Linwood, Kansas, before moving permanently to their lake home in Edwards, Missouri, in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Danny and Toby Nunn; a sister, Josephine "Jo" Everhart; and two brothers, Jimmy and Billy Minter.

Leona is survived by her husband of seventy-six years, Jim Nunn; two daughters, Janice Green and her husband John, of Lincoln and Marilyn Pitnick and her husband Steve, of Lawrence, Kansas, two sons, Mike Nunn, of Linwood, Kansas and Jerry Nunn, of Warsaw, eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Leona loved flowers and tending her garden. During the years her children were in school, she worked part-time as a cook and waitress. She enjoyed baking and quilting, fishing at the lake, and spending time on the water. She attended Colony Baptist Church in Edwards.

Leona will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her loving devotion to her family, and the many beautiful things she created with her hands and her heart.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
