Michael Lynn Burriss

1958 - 2025

Michael Lynn Burriss, age 66, of Warsaw, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of David Burriss and Peggy Charlene (Tyndall) Burriss. He grew up in Kansas City and attended JC Harmon High School. Mike went on to work for Deffenbaugh Trash Service for many years. On September 22, 1995 he was united in marriage to Diane Hensley in Miami, Oklahoma. They continued to make their home in Kansas City, moving permanently to Warsaw in 2008 where Mike was employed as a custodian for the Warsaw South Elementary for sixteen years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jeffery Banks, a daughter, Christina Burriss and two brothers, Earl Burriss and Gerald Burriss.
Mike is survived by his wife, Diane Burriss, of the home, four children; Michael "Jack" Burriss (Amy), of Clinton, Missouri, Bridgett Burriss (Daniel), of Warsaw, Missouri, Kari VanNatta (Mike) of Clinton, Missouri and Adrian Morgan (Chris), of Tonganoxie, Kansas, a brother Harold Burriss (Maureen), of Kansas City, Kansas, a sister Brenda Brintle, of Warsaw, two sister-in-law's, Vicki Burriss, of Kansas City, Kansas and Jackie Burriss, of Warsaw, sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held form 12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the American Legion Post #217 in Warsaw. Arrangements for his cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
