Reba Walterscheid Obituary
Reba June (Wilburn) Walterscheid, 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 27, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Paul and Reba Thelma (Treadwell) Wilburn. She traveled frequently with her family growing up and attended high school in Jefferson City and California, Missouri.
She met the love of her life, John Walterscheid, in California, Missouri, while working at Jimmy's Drive-In, owned by her brother-in-law Jim Bray. They were married on June 17, 1967, at Annunciation Catholic Church in California and raised their family in Odessa, Missouri. Reba worked as a supervisor at Harmon Electronics, specializing in the production of circuit boards for the railroad industry.
Reba and John, who retired to Truman Lake in 2000, were married for 58 years. She was a devoted member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, where she was active in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Altar and Rosary Society. She also taught Sunday School for many years. Reba June loved spending time with family and especially looked forward to the week-long visit with all the grandkids each summer. She enjoyed crafts, fishing, raising flowers, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Reba Wilburn; infant daughter, Tina Marie Walterscheid; siblings James Wilburn, Joe Wilburn, Paul Wilburn Jr., Geneva Bray Dixon, Nancy Doepker, Rosetta Chavez, and Loretta Wilburn; and mother-in-law Marie Walterscheid.
She is survived by her husband, John Walterscheid; two children, Angela Starns (Anthony) and Robert Walterscheid (Barbie); six grandchildren, Kayla Hollister-Graham (Dylan), Phillip Starns (Jaimie), Maria Starns, Levi Summers (Devin), Raegan Huffman (Dalton), and Jaxon Walterscheid; two great-grandchildren, Wrinley Rae Huffman and Millie June Huffman; two sisters, Carolyn Kirschman and Pauletta Fyffe (Darrell); and a sister-in-law, Eva Carpenter (Dave). She also leaves behind her childhood best friend Joannie Farris (Bill) and many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Funeral Mass, followed by lunch, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warsaw, Missouri, with Rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Cedron Cemetery, near Jamestown, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cedron Cemetery Fund.
