Gregory Michael Chennault

1954 - 2018

Gregory Michael Chennault, 63, of Benton, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, after a courageous fight against cancer.
Greg was born Aug. 12, 1954, in Little Rock, to Omer and Helen Chennault. He was a graduate of Benton High School and attended Ouachita Vo-Tech. Greg was a skilled machinist and business man. He owned NC Machine (formerly Mid-South Machine and Tool) in Little Rock with his business partner and friend of 30 years, Elvin Nash.
Greg loved hot rods and good music. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Greg loved a good joke and was a great storyteller.  He was kind, patient, and a good man and left an impression on almost anyone he ever met.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Omer Chennault and Helen Long Chennault; two brothers, Billy Ray and Bobby Joe Chennault; a brother-in-law, Herbert Fleming; an aunt, Ann Moore Hawkins; and an uncle, Herman Long.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 15 years, Peggy Chennault; three daughters, Kam Chennault, Christa Bolden (Johnny) and Jessica Chennault (Mike Krticka); a stepdaughter, Katie Jenkins; a stepson, Grady Jenkins; six grandchildren, who he was so proud of, Lauren Thomas, Trevor Alston, Ethan Warner, Eli Chennault, Sydney Jenkins and Cade Chennault; two sisters, Melba Fleming and Marilyn Rogers (Gary); an aunt, Winona Moore; two nieces, Carla Masters and Rhonda Long; a nephew, Kevin Harrington; two longtime best friends, Donnie Gundolf and Johnny Mullinax; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Gundolf, Johnny Mullinax, Dave Mullinax, Kevin Harrington, Travis Bolden and Robert Lewis.  Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Tillman, Sr.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Ashby Funeral Home, with burial following at Smith-Rosemont Memorial Park.
