Joyce Marie Caldwell

Joyce Marie Caldwell, 90, of Alexander, passed to her heavenly home Friday, July 28, 2023. Born March 19, 1933, to Marvin and Inez Shaddox and raised in McKinney, Texas. Joyce loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She married the love of her life, Tommy, in 1954, and they were married for 69 years.Together they raised four successful children and in retirement RV'd across the U.S. and came to many of their children's and grandchildren's life events. Joyce lived her life as a dedicated daughter, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Joyce shared her love of Jesus and of children for more than 30 years as a Sunday School and VBS preschool teacher. This brought her so much joy. Joyce was an expert baker and loved to share this skill with her children and grandchildren. Baking and decorating Christmas cut out cookies along with her was a wonderful family tradition. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who loved her.??Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Shaddox and Inez Cave; her husband, Tommy Jr. Caldwell; her brothers, Eugene Shaddox, Charles Shaddox and Jimmy Don Howard; her son, Marvin Thomas Caldwell; daughter-in-law, Ginger Caldwell; granddaughter, Madelaine Claire Zimmerman; great-granddaughter, Josephine Ava Kromer; and grandson Aaron Keegan Zimmerman.? She is survived by her daughters, Linda Patterson (Bill) and Pamela Zimmerman (Tim); son, Stephen Caldwell; daughter-in-law Wanda Caldwell; eight grandchildren, Tim Patterson (Christina), Ryan Patterson, Tiffany Patterson, April Bennett (Wesley), Marie Reddell (Brian), Susan Zimmerman Cocco (Francesco), Chris Zimmerman and Matt Zimmerman; eight great-grandchildren, Zyelle, AlTarik, Jack, Caitlyn, Caidyn, Cayleb, AubreyAnna, and Ginevra; also by many nieces, nephews and extended family members who loved her very much.??Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 10 a.m. Officiated by Pastor Les Aldridge and Pastor John Venable. Online guest book at www.ashbyfunealhome.com.
