Alan North Obituary
He was born in Pittsfield August 12, 1947, the son of Herbert and Pauline Bardin North, attended local schools and was a 1966 graduate of Lenox High School.
Following graduation Alan enlisted in the US Army where he served from 1966-70, a year of which he spent in Vietnam.
He was the owner and operator of North's Services in Lenox where he worked daily up to the time of his death. He was proud to have his son, who will continue to run the business, join him many years ago.
Alan was proud of his military service and was a member of the Conklin-Lane-Coakley VFW Post #12079
His wife, Linda Shaffer North, whom he married March 20, 1971, died April 30, 2022.
He is survived by his two children, Christopher A. North (Brenda) and Lisa M. Wright (Scott Miller) both of Pittsfield; grandchildren Alana and Alyse Wright, and Lucas North, sister; Paula Rhine Miller (Les) of Cheshire and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was pre-deceased by his grandson Matthew North on April 6, 2024, and his sister Terry Schulze.
Calling hours for Alan H. North of Lenox will be Tuesday morning from 10-11 am at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral prayers will be offered by the Rev. Michael Tuck, Pastor of St. Helena's Chapel in New Lenox, at 11. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Lenox VFW in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.

Chris, Smitty here.Sorry sorry to hear this Sad News that your Dad passed. Just was told ,so Sorry man. Your Dad was a Great Guy, always had time for me whenever I stopped in the shop. We shared some Interesting stories in that Famous Little office of his, which he loved so much over so many years. I will always Cherish the fact That he had a place for me in his life! I consider just knowing him was a lucky part of my life! I will always remember the day at Bob Mackie' s Funeral ,at Cemetery.When I had a chance to Say something in Bob's Memory, I said with a straight face How Bob always gave me a 50% Discount whenever I stopped in Norths for parts. Pretty much caught the crowd off guard . I'll never forget that smile I put on your Dad's face when everyone laughed , all knowing nothing got by AL, ever. A little laugh always eases the struggle after losing a loved one! Chris, I hope your smiling about this,I am. Condolences man, RIP AL , Smitty
