Alice Marie Hunt

1931 - 2023

Alice Marie (DeCoigne) Hunt 92, of North Adams died Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Craneville Place in Dalton. She was born in Tewksbury, MA. on January 15, 1931 a daughter of the late Albertine (DeCoigne) Lemelin. Alice moved to Williamstown at the age of ten and attended schools in Williamstown, graduating in 1949 from Williamstown High School.

She was employed at Rudnick's Laundry and Sweetbrook Nursing home both in Williamstown. She was last employed as a clerk in the bakery department at the Big Y Supermarket in North Adams retiring in 2000. Alice loved having family dinners, attending concerts, and country fairs. Alice had many great adventures with her long-time friends Cora Knight and Karen Lanier. Her dog "Mikey" was her loyal companion for many years. She cherished her many caregivers at Craneville Place of Dalton and took great comfort in their company.

Alice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband Roy Stanley Hunt whom she married December 13, 1952 died March 26, 1982.

Survivors include her five children Thomas C. Hunt of Colorado, Timothy C. Hunt (Sally-Jo) of Cheshire, Bruce A. Hunt (Julie) of Bennington, VT, Bonnie A. Hunt of Pittsfield and Kathleen M. Malloy (Paul) of Cheshire, ten grandchildren Kendra, Brandy, Joshua, Travis, Stephanie, Victoria, Heather, Brittany, Kayla and Haley. Alice also leaves her sister Jeannette Belanger and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Leo Lemelin.

Funeral Services to celebrate Alice Hunt Life will take place Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA. Calling hours are Tuesday from 10:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA.
