Alice Norman Obituary

NORTH ADAMS -- Alice Lea Norman, 62, of 166 Middle Road died yesterday at the North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in North Adams on June 28, 1944, daughter of the late Lionel Champagne and Glorianna Bachand Champagne, she attended local schools, including the former Notre Dame Parochial School and St. Joseph's High School.

She was a registered nurse's aide at North Adams Commons until retiring due to poor health. Prior to that, she was employed for 22 years as a registered nurse's aide at the former Adams Rest Home and had been employed at the former Signet Club in Adams.

She was a former communicant of Notre Dame Church, where she was a member of the Notre Dame Adult Society. She currently was at St. Francis' Church in North Adams.

She enjoyed ceramics and Elvis Presley, and would travel to Lake George, N.Y., for the Elvis Festivals with her sister and husband.

She leaves her husband of 39 years, Albert E. Norman, whom she married Sept. 17, 1966, at Notre Dame Church in North Adams.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Lisa Marie Bartlett of North Adams; a son, Paul C. Norman of Clarksburg, Mass.; a sister, Marie Norman of North Adams; and a grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Alice Lea Champagne Norman, who died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, will take place Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis' Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. She leaves a son-in-law, Jeffrey Bartlett, and a grandson, Jacob Bartlett. She was predeceased by a sister, Louise Worth. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother.

i am so sorry for your loss. i worked for years with alice at the north adams commons. we got along great. i was very shocked to hear of her passing.i just saw her 2 days before. you have my prayers with you.
