Antoinette Nina Mastrangelo

1933 - 2023

Mrs. Antoinette "Nina" Mastrangelo, 89, of Pittsfield, MA passed away on Friday July 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving children.

Nina was born in North Adams, MA on September 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (Falbo) Buda. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1951. After graduating, she worked for the North Adams Telephone Company and subsequently at Sprague Electric Company as a Production Clerk and later as a Scheduler. She moved to Pittsfield with her family in 1969.

Nina enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family, most recently spending time in Florida each Christmas with her two daughters. She was a very kind-hearted and special person. Her hobbies were tennis, bocce and playing pitch. Some of her fondest memories were playing bocce with her friends. She was a long-time member of the Italian American Club and started the Wednesday and Thursday Bocce Leagues.

Nina was a lifetime member of the Roman Catholic Church and worshipped for many years at Mount Carmel Parish, where she was a lector and eucharistic minister and more recently at St. Joseph's Church, where she was an eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Seton Family and St. Ann's at St. Joseph's Church.

Nina spent numerous hours volunteering her time for several church functions and other organizations. She was a long-term member and served as President of a variety of organizations including the Mount Carmel Parish Ladies Guild, the Itam Lodge # 564, and the Ladies Club of North Adams. She also worked for many years as a volunteer at Berkshire Medical Center in the Gift Shop and at the Information Desk.

Nina was the wife of Silvio Ralph Mastrangelo who passed away on June 27, 2019. They were married on April 28, 1962. She leaves behind her beloved children, her son Marc Mastrangelo and his wife Jennifer of Pompton Lakes, NJ; her daughters Lisa Mastrangelo of Bonita Springs, FL and Maria Mastrangelo of West Roxbury, MA; and her grandchildren Luke and Lydia Mastrangelo of Pompton Lakes, NJ. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother; Virginia Gregory, Josephine Robinson, Mary Dickinson, and John Buda. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Concelebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial for Nina Mastrangelo will be celebrated on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph's Church, 414 North Street, Pittsfield, MA, 01201. The principal celebrant will be Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church and Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Columbarium at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours to greet family and friends will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Friday, July 28, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
