Cheryl Mendocha Obituary
1954 - 2016 Mrs. Cheryl A. Marquis Mendocha, 62, of Lenox Ave., Pittsfield passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at home, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield on January 14, 1954 the daughter of Emil and Regina Rancourt Marquis, she was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Cheryl was a homemaker and had previously been a Unit Coordinator at Berkshire Medical Center for 15 years. She was a communicant of St. Charles Church. She was an avid reader, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Joel, whom she married on July 21, 1984. She is also survived by her two children, Courtney Mendocha and Matthew Mendocha; a brother, Richard Marquis and his wife Teresa and a sister, Cathy Marquis and her longtime companion Richard Casucci; a niece, Sophia Marquis and two nephews, Scott Marquis and Sam Marquis. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Cheryl Marquis Mendocha will be Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with the Rev. Charles Young, chaplain of HospiceCare in the Berkshires, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be an hour of visitation preceding the service from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory. So sorry Cheryl to see you leave this world way to soon, but so honored to have been able to share some precious time with you, Joel, Courtney & Matt, they were all so wonderful & caring & willing to do all the could to help keep you comfortable I cannot tell you how very impressed I was, you have a wonderful family who loved you very much, and were more then willing to do whatever it took to make your final days the best they could,and they did a great job...we will meet again someday, give my love to all of our family who have left this earth, they are all missed, until then, sleep in heavenly peace.
