David Richard Claffie

1957 - 2021

David Richard Claffie passed away peacefully on 11/13/2021 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. Born in Pittsfield, MA on 8/2/1957 to Richard F. and Carolyn H. Claffie of Dalton, MA. He graduated from Wahconah HS in 1975. He earned an AS in Electronics from NH Vocational Technical College, Manchester in 1983. His career began at Wang Labs, where he enjoyed working and ended his career at Integra Life Sciences, where he felt at home.

Dave's kind heart, generosity toward others and his genuine personality always brought out the best in others - his family, his lifelong friends from Dalton, (MA), his faith community and beyond. He always had people on his mind and sought for ways to encourage or meet needs in his community-always eager to serve. Dave made friends wherever he went.

Dave was a man who loved deeply and fully:

- hearing people's stories, learning where people came from and the challenges, they overcame. This sparked his interest in history and genealogy...

- the great outdoors hiking or walking along the beaches on Cape Cod with his family. He loved traveling the back roads, marveling at the beauty of each season, awed by God's creation.

Dave met the love of his life, Beth, on a blind date in 2000. They were married in 2002. Drew's arrival in September 2004 completed their family. He has left a lasting imprint on the lives he touched: his wife and son, his brothers and sisters, Ann Mottley, Jane Strong, Steve Claffie and Mary Secor, other relatives, his brothers and sisters in the fellowship of the Church of Christ and the many friends he made along the way. He will be deeply missed by all.

Dave deeply understood God's love for him and as an outpouring of his love in return, he began and ended each day on his knees to the Lord thanking him for all his blessings. He spent his days living to honor Jesus.
