David White

1957 - 2023

David White, 65, of Pittsfield passed away after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 with his loving family at his side. Born in Pittsfield on May 16, 1957, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Scott) White. David attended local schools and was a commercial painter. He relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to Pittsfield to raise his daughters.

He enjoyed his summers at the Cape spending time with family, fishing, kayaking and birdwatching. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, as well as an avid sports card collector.

He leaves behind his daughters Erin Mottor (Steven), Brittney White, Emily White and Libby White as well as his sisters Kathleen White and Mariellen Connor. He also leaves behind his grandson, Miles Mottor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his brothers, Mark and Paul.

The family would like to thank his oncologist, Dr Nisar Ahmad, and the oncology nurses at the Berkshire Cancer Center for their wonderful care.

David's sense of humor and quick wit was only a small part of his charm. He loved all he knew and was, in turn, loved by all. Though he passed earlier than we wanted him to, his memory will live on in not only our hearts, but through the stories we will continue to share with our families for generations to come.

Funeral services for David White will be Friday, January 20, 2023, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 3pm at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 4pm to 6pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
