Dorothy Beverly Obituary

Dorothy G. Beverly 1909-2008 WILLIAMSTOWN Dorothy G. Brown Beverly, 98, of 118 Church St., died Sunday, August 24 at North Adams Regional Hospital. She was born in North Adams, on Dec. 30, 1909, daughter of Edwin A. Brown and Jennie Harris Brown. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. Mrs. Beverly was last employed as a bookkeeper at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. until it closed. Before that, she worked at the former Marge's Gift Shop in Williamstown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Adams. She was a life member of the Williamstown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of the Williamstown Grange. She was the widow of Charles Beverly who died in 1960. She leaves one son, Richard E. Beverly and his partner, Debra Lefebvre, of Williamstown; one daughter, Nancy McCommas of Coal Center, Pa.; one grandson, Clayton Basinger and his wife Tracy of Coal Center, Pa.; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside committal services for Dorothy Beverly will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, with Rev. Joseph DeCosta, former Pastor of the First Baptist Church in North Adams, officiating. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamstown Grange in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
